– West Active Living and Learning Centre

The West Active Living and Learning Centre (WALLC) is dedicated to promoting growth and wellness in a safe and welcoming environment that embraces the diversity of our community.

We offer a variety of activities to help connect older adults with their peers and with opportunities for fitness, education, community development, social connections, and more.

COVID-19 Update: Our physical locations at 248 Ossington Street, 20 West Lodge Avenue and Springhurst Manor (1447 King Street West) are currently closed. However, many of our activities are currently running virtually. Please click on each individual activity to learn more, or call Seniors Intake at 416-532-7586 ext. 146 for information on how to sign up.

Our activities include:

  • Health Promotion and Education, which provides educational and health related activities/services that promote wellness for older adults (currently offered virtually)
  • Health Action Theatre by Seniors (HATS), community-based educational theatre that raises awareness about difficult issues facing older adults (currently offered virtually)
  • Friendly Connections, which provides companionship and support through one-on-one home visits (currently on pause during COVID-19), regular phone calls and social media activities (currently offered over the phone and virtually)
  • Social Dining, which offers a clean and safe space for older adults to share a meal and learn about nutrition (currently on pause)
